Mary Gardner

As Walker Ventures' Controller, Mary Gardner is responsible for the financial accounting, fund reporting and organizing the company's audits. Mary also advises our portfolio companies on financial and accounting issues as they navigate their growth from small start-ups to sophisticated large corporations, lending her assistance in setting up computerized accounting systems, P&L sheets and general ledger.

Business finance and accounting issues are no strangers to Mary. Having had an extensive career in the banking industry before earning her CPA, Mary then put her accounting knowledge to work for numerous small and mid-size companies throughout the region. Mary has also been teaching college students the principles of accounting for the last 15 years as a Professor at Howard Community College.

Mary received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland. She is a CPA and a member of the Maryland Association of CPAs and the Mid Atlantic Venture Association's YAVA.
